westell woes

so yesterday I was attempting to forward port 21 on my router to access my ftp server. everything was going well until I tried to set dyndns to my modem. apparently the westell 6100 don't quite understand why someone would want to forward traffic over any port than port 80 so it decided that port 21 just couldn't be forwarded. after about an hour of frustrations I called Verizon dsl help directly ( thanks to the dial zero app). I debated weather to tell the rep exactly what o was trying to accomplish but I figured they would have no idea what I was talking about so I opted with "I can't get on the internet and my farmville crops are dying!!!" she mt have understood my anguish because right away she reply's " not a problem we'll send you a wireless modem free of charge one day shipping" (which I've grown to expect from Verizon.) pictures to come!

Introduction

Hi my name is Chris and this blog is aptly named. If you choose to follow my blog you will come to realize that I rarely stay on one topic long enough to become an expert but long enough to be entertained. I realize that people write these blogs to cover specific topics but I would like to think of myself as a bit more open minded than that. This blog will consist of many failures and half thought out ideas that are poorly executed and laughable. But the whole point is to be inspired to try new things and to hopefully inspire you to do the same. So here's to 2010 and the pursuit of all things awesome.
